This rehearsal tape compiles a few excerpts of hour-long improvisational sessions recorded in October 2020 (track 4 and 5) and January and Februrary 2021 (track 1-3).
The three "movements" at the beginning of this release are examples of an exercise I started doing to clear my mind between improvisations and to cheer me up. They emerged from my desire to find guitar tunings that resonate with me. I didn't think of them as more than fun exercises though and they certainly weren't meant to be published (which is why you can hear me tuning and switching between pickups in between). In the last weeks, however, I've grown very fond of these recordings and I think that if there can be anything like a suitable setting for their release, it would be this rehearsal tape.
In the two "star"-improvisations that can be found at the end, I tried to discover other possibilities of the same technique you can hear in the "movements", and to push said technique to its acoustic limits.
